Historical works

The pairing of guitar and voice has a long and distinguished history. Some of the earliest published music brings this pairing together. In the 19th century guitar accompaniments were a common way to bring to the drawing rooms and salons popular music of the stage. In the same way as piano and voice editions thrived, so did voice and guitar. We explore and revive historical gems, such as those performed here, with a particular interest in finding works by female composers.

Modern Works

We have premiered the works of numerous female composers, historical and modern, including the Australian premiere of Notities von straatslijper and Un Borracho Sefardi by Annette Kruisbrink

Australian Works and New Commissions

We prioritize Australian works, the creation of new repertoire for voice, guitar and other instruments in chamber combinations. Videos here are from Birds by Sally Whitwell for Soprano, Guitar and Marimba, and Colours from Tributaries by Meredith Connie, for Soprano, Guitar and Percussion.
